This is a departure from the online security postings. one of the domains for international security certification is Physical Security. I had a lot of experience with this in the military and when I was primary investigator for nuclear plants at one job.

I have used the small alarms from Walmart up to ADT alarms. There is a place for all different types. I recently came across SimpliSafe.

I am currently evaluating this system, but, so far, the setup is user-friendly, the support line is very knowledgeable and helpful. One of the biggest advantages is that it is one of 2 totally wireless systems publicly available, to my knowledge.

Some tout a wireless setup that requires power to be wired to it. That is NOT wireless. I prefer true wireless. I did a site survey and installed an ARLO system for my mother. It was a very nice system, but not as user-friendly as the Simplisafe for setup.
