United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-Cert)

Notice it is a “.gov” ending website (see book). This is now the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC). While the mission statement is lengthy, NCCIC has one basic mission. That is to inform the public of recent cybersecurity events.
Like any information, you needt an explanation with proper context. US-Cert provides some fairly easy to understand “Alerts and Tips”. Also, for cybersecurity professionals, there is more detail.
For most, reading just the “systems affected” and “solution” sections is enough. This tells you who is affected and how to fix the issue.
Anyone can sign up to receive these technical alerts from National Cyber Awareness System (NCAS) via email or feed. You get far more reliable information than from your local news, for example. Local newscasts have varying skill levels with cybersecurity and most of it is low. US-CERT is a reputable source.
