This is unique. There is someone trolling the neighborhood who is selling Internet service door to door and ignoring “no solicitors” signs.
The scam part came in when she told my wife misleading information. She said that Cable Internet users shared bandwidth and ATT DSL users had a direct line. AT&T also divides bandwidth. You do not have a direct line into the Internet as AT&T misleads you to believe. You have a direct connection to their trunk. You still have to share bandwidth.
This is a form of social engineering because they misrepresent the truth about Internet service. There is no longer a non biased organization to help consumers.
Unfortunately, businesses are able to buy their Better Business Bureau rating nowadays. AT&T pays for an “A” while delivering “F-” service. Intentionally misleading people to switch their internet service is just another deceptive trade practice that AT&T engages in with impunity.
Do you best to help spread the word. Then look up DSL speed vs Cable. AT&T lies because they have far inferior service.
